Hello! I am Captain Stacy Lynn and I have been an avid saltwater and freshwater fly angler since 1995. I have 20+ years as a professional fly fishing coach, and I am a Fly Fishers Intl. Certified Instructor and a graduate of Joan Wulff’s Fly Fishing Instructor’s School. I am also a USCG Captain and a TPWD Licensed Saltwater Fly Fishing Guide.
I am a member of the Texas Women Fly Fishers club and interact frequently with several of the other FFI Clubs including the Austin Fly Fishers and the Texas Fly Fishers of Houston. I have been a featured speaker, demonstrator, instructor, and volunteer at many events and have been working in the fly fishing industry for almost 25 years, mostly managing fly shops. I am a volunteer instructor and guide for Casting for Recovery – a fly fishing retreat for women affected by breast cancer.
My favorite fly fishing endeavor is sight casting in saltwater, especially to Redfish from my poling skiff, and Tarpon, Permit, Snook and Jacks in tropical destinations.
I teach a great number of beginners. And my instruction specialties are: casting diagnostics and tune-ups; teaching specific skills like hauling, wind techniques, and the saltwater quick cast; and helping fly casters prepare for the Saltwater Fly Fishing experience. My business, WOW Fly Fishing, is dedicated to the experiences, education and business of fly fishing.
As of early 2022, I am living, working, guiding, and instructing from Galveston Island, TX. I am the General Manager of Galveston Fishing Company - the island's first fly fishing shop.
